Q: What does rough board include?
A: Rough board includes the use of all facilities (indoor, outdoor, square pen wash stalls, tack room, trailer parking ($21.10 a moth fee), trails, lounge and access to the sick stall (for an additional fee) in case of injury or sickness that requires stall rest or monitoring. For the safety of the horses and for our employees, we do not feed grain to rough board horses. Horses are given 24/7 access to round bales with slow feed hay nets year round and have access to pasture in summer months. We routinely drag the area in warmer months for manure management. Owners are welcome to purchase their own grain and feed their horse(s). Rough board horses are checked and looked over twice daily. Auto water and shelters provided.

Q:How are horses turned out and how often?
A: Horses are turned out to pasture daily with weather permitting. We take great pride in the safety of the horses as well as the management of our pastures so when the weather gets too wet we do keep horses inside. Usually this occurs during spring and fall but of course there will be exceptions (after all this is WISCONSIN)!! Also, if the conditions are slippery due to ice we will also keep them inside.
We have built a wonderful RAMM fencing system to help with turn out and turn in. Our staff will halter each horse, walk them out of the barn and let them loose. Once all the horses from that particular herd are out of their stalls they are ushered to their pasture. During turn in, this is reversed. We open the pasture gate, they are ushered up to the barn then haltered and individually lead into their stalls. We do not allow the horses to run through the barns or to "find" their stalls.
Q: Are guests and trainers allowed on the property?
A: YES! DPS allows guests on the property as long as we have a Hold Harmless Agreement signed by EACH visitor. Liability waivers can be found online or in our lounge in a filing system on the wall. Outside trainers are welcome as long as they have a liability waiver signed and proof of liability insurance on file with management with Dawson Pointe Stables listed as a "certificate" holder.
Q: What vet does DPS use and can I bring my own?
A: DPS uses Country View but you may use whomever you choose. Currently Country View as well as Irongate have a monthly sign up so you can save some money getting in on the larger barn calls. These sign up sheets are in the lounge. Just to name a few, DPS has the two above mentioned vets as well as Cambridge, Lodi, Badger, Brooklyn coming out for frequent visits.
Q: Are there currently any instructors at DPS?

Dawson Pointe Stable MUST be listed on the ins from as a “certificate” holder. Please let management know ahead of time if you will be having an instructor\trainer coming.
Q: Will the arena’s be shut down for anything?
